Billings Parks, Recreation, and Trails Community Campaign

This November, the City of Billings is bringing forward a $143 million bond initiative. This ambitious ask will be supported by the Billings Parks, Recreation, and Trails Community Campaign. Our goal is to raise $6 million in private donations, plus another $6 million through grants, which will go directly toward this project.

We are asking you to join other business owners and community leaders by making your financial pledge to this community campaign.

Winning the Race for Talent

Top Factors Considered When Relocating:

  • null
    Affordable, safe community
  • null
    Outdoor recreation
  • null
    Welcoming, Friendly Community

If Billings wants to be the first, best place in Montana – the time to act is now.

While Billings is associated with having quality schools and healthcare, the city is not at the level it needs to be when it comes to recreation. The last major expansion of the Billings’ park system was in the 1980s, and the majority of trails in Billings were built prior to 2012.

Billings also lags far behind similar size cities in terms of having indoor, multi-use community recreation space. Across the nation, 3 in 5 parks departments offer indoor recreation and community centers, and communities between 100,000 and 250,000 in population average 54,120 residents per recreation center.

Building our recreational infrastructure gives Billings a leading edge in the race for talent.
